1) National Western Horse Show

The National Western Stock Show offers one of the most elite rodeos in the world. From PBR Bull Riding and PRCA Pro Rodeos to our own Colorado vs the World Rodeo, to the celebrated Mexican Rodeo Extravaganza and MLK Jr. African-American Heritage Rodeo, our rodeo arena is jam packed with action for 16 full days!

2) Mexican Rodeo Extravaganza

January 7th, Denver Coliseum, in Denver, CO

Filled with cultural pageantry, the Mexican Rodeo Extravaganza features Mexican-style bull riding, bareback riding, trick roping, Mariachi music, side saddle riders, and the Portuguese-style bullfights all choreographed by Jerry Diaz, a 4th-generation champion charro.

3) Boulder Philharmonic – Vignettes & Prominades (Piano & Clarinet)

Sunday January 7th, 4pm, Macky Auditorium, CU Campus, Boulder, CO

Pianist and composer Aldo López-Gavilán joins forces with Ricardo Morales, principal clarinetist of the Philadelphia Orchestra, to premiere his much anticipated Clarinet Concerto with the Boulder Phil. In this stunning return to the Macky stage, Aldo delivers an encore performance of his piano concerto, Emporium, an audience-favorite which sparkles with the vivid images and rhythms of his Afro-Cuban heritage.

4) Sportsmen’s Expo Denver

Sunday, January 14, 11am – 7pm, Colorado Convention Center in Denver

6) Colorado Cowboy Gathering | Poetry & Storytelling

January 11th thru 14th, The Rose Event Center in Golden, CO

The Colorado Cowboy Gathering (CCG) celebrates cowboy heritage, traditions and entertainment, which grew out of the traditions of cattle drives in the American West. CCG celebrates the wisdom, artistry and ingenuity of Western folkways through exhibitions, statewide outreach educational programs, and a premier annual event held in January – a vital link to the past, present and future, and where the traditions of the cowboy and the Code of the West are shared through stories, poetry, song and verse.

7) Colorado Farm Show Event Guide

January 24th thru 26th, Island Grove Park in Greeley, CO

It is fitting that one of the largest and oldest farm shows in the nation takes place in Weld County, the 4th largest agriculture producing county in the USA. The annual 3-day event features almost 350 ag-related exhibits and draws more than 30,000 visitors from throughout the region interested in learning more about agriculture products, services, and machinery. And volunteers with a love for agriculture make it happen.

8) UllrGrass Music & Beer Festival

Fabulous breweries and cideries from across the state and beyond will be sampling their libations to festival-goers. Beer festival tickets include:

10) Denver Winter Whiskey Tasting Festival

January 27, 2024, Downtown Denver Partnership in Denver

Featuring over a dozen Colorado distilleries, guests will have the opportunity to try a myriad of samples. Visitors will get to try 15-20 different 0.25oz pours of whiskey. Some brands that will be in attendance include Barrell Craft Spirits, Branch & Barrel Distilling, Breckenridge Distillery, Copper Sky Distillery, Distillery 291, Golden Moon Distillery, Ironton Distillery & Crafthouse, Mythology Distillery, and The Long Drink Company.

11) Denver Winter Brew Fest

January 27th, Mile HIgh Station, Denver

Brewing delicious craft beer is both an art and a skill which is why many craft beer events only happen during certain seasons. The Denver Winter Brew Fest takes advantage of the cold weather to bring you some of the best beer varieties in Colorado.

12) Motorcycle Expo – 45th Annual

January 27th & 28th, National Western Complex in Denver

Running since 1978, the Colorado Motorcycle Expo is not only the largest motorcycle show in the Rocky Mountains but also the largest indoor swap meet in America. Join over 20,000 motorcycle enthusiasts for live music, tattoo competitions, and, of course, plenty of motorcycles. The 45th annual expo is ideal for those looking to buy and sell custom components. There are also over a dozen competitions with thousands of dollars worth of prizes. And if you don’t yet own a motorcycle, you can check out the used bike corral on the lower floor of the expo.
