Whether you’re looking for a great spot to spend an afternoon or a relaxing weekend getaway in Denver, The Source might just be the perfect option. This hip RiNo spot is home to a new well-designed 100-room hotel as well as a thriving artisan collective of independent retail shops and restaurants.

History

Today’s lifestyle hotel was recently built alongside the historic 1880’s iron foundry building which now houses the culinary collective. The repurposed building’s main floor is where you’ll find a hall of artisan shops and restaurants. The Source hotel building houses an additional market hall as well as their many beautiful hotel rooms.

The Hotel

The Source Hotel is an eight-story tower with rooms that are meant to bring the outdoors in. Each room is a light-filled refuge with views of the downtown Denver skyline and the majestic Rocky Mountains. Some rooms are equipped with raisable garage doors to allow in as much light and fresh air as possible. On the roof of the hotel building, you’ll find The Woods, a gastropub with panoramic skyline views, a beer garden, and a pool terrace. They serve breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner as well as creative cocktails. One highlight is their local beer offerings, including the New Belgium Brewing beers brewed on the ground floor of the building.

The Market

There are two market halls to explore at The Source, one in the older building and one within the hotel building. Each offers a variety of unique small businesses to shop from, including an art gallery, florist, bakery, barber, and more. There are plenty of food options to choose from as well, with spots like Smōk specializing in wood-fired and smoked foods, Comida, with slow-cooked Mexican fare, and Safta, with modern Israeli cuisine. They’re also home to two breweries, New Belgium Brewing and Crooked Stave.

Events

They have everything from special-guest chef events to national and international artist and retail pop-ups. One upcoming event you might want to check out is their Hygge Life’s Nordic Market Launch Party on November 15th in Market Hall 1. This party will celebrate the launch of Hygge Life’s Pop-Up Market. Hygge is a Danish term that refers to a cozy aesthetic, so you can expect plenty of Scandinavian shopping options at this event. They’ll also have crafty winter cocktails by RiNo Yacht Club and Nordic-inspired small bites.

RiNo

One of the best aspects of The Source is its location in the heart of RiNo, the River North Art District. This neighborhood is Denver’s former manufacturing district which has seen an industrial revival and now hosts a thriving art scene. Whether you’re spending an afternoon or a weekend, there’s plenty to do and see nearby. With alleys of colorful street murals, innovative restaurants, and plenty of creative spaces, it’s a great place to explore on foot.

Whether you’re a Denver resident looking for a fun afternoon or the perfect staycation or a visitor wanting to enjoy all the city has to offer, the Source is absolutely worth a visit. Head over to explore this small-business hub, expand your culinary horizons, and soak up the RiNo atmosphere.
